Our Purpose
You should consider us your primary source of health care, whether you want us to treat an illness or to help you maintain good health. Our training allows us to address the vast majority of medical problems that you may have, and we have good access to area specialists if we are not able to handle your particular problem.

We do not require a complete physical on your first visit, but we think it is important for all of our patients to have a complete physical early in our association so that we may get to know everyone better medically and personally. This helps us take better care of you.

Modern medicine now has cures and solutions for many serious illnesses, but what you do to prevent disease is extremely important. We stress good health habits to our patients: a nutritious diet, regular exercise, adequate rest, moderation of alcohol use, avoidance of tobacco, seatbelt use, and opportunities to relax and to enjoy life.

Hospital Care
We care for all our newborns and children at Longmont United Hospital, and we partner with the Longmont United hospitalists (primary care doctors that only work in the hospital) in caring for our adult patients. The hospitalists usually take care of admissions to the hospital through the emergency room, while we may continue care into the hospital for admissions directly from our office.
At times, we may call in other specialists to help in the quality care of our hospitalized patients.

Emergencies
An emergency is a sudden medical problem where there is danger to life or possible permanent damage to health. Some examples of these include significant difficulty breathing, bleeding, severe chest or abdominal pain, and loss of consciousness. Medication refills or illnesses that have been going on for days or weeks are rarely emergencies, though there are some exceptions. If you have an emergency, you may call (303)772-5578 during office hours to speak with a medical assistant, or after office hours to have the doctor on call paged. If the emergency may be threatening your life call 911.
